Envision’s core team of engineers and consultants started working together in just outside Tyson’s Corner in1995. In 1996 we moved to Old Town Alexandria and we’ve been here ever since.
We started with Novell Networks and HP printer repair. Windows ’95 had just come out, Windows Networking was just catching on, and it wasn’t unheard of for ten people to share a single modem line. Our business model was pretty straight forward—buy some hours and call us when you need us.
Then, the break-fix model started … well, breaking. Uptime became the watchword. We went to 4-hour response times and weekly visits.
But the problem with 4-hours response is that it takes four hours. And what do you do if you can’t print the day after the computer guy was onsite?
So now , as broadband got broader, phones turned into blackberries, and desktops turned into laptops—network support turned into a 24-hour job. If you can’t get email on a Friday, you can’t wait until Monday to get the problem solved.
Our Solution
Of course we still offer Traditional Hours blocks, but our main product offering is now a comprehensive, proactive solution called Envision Managed.
Envision Managed combines 24/7 system monitoring, 24/7 helpdesk and remote services, Unlimited business-hours onsite support, Enterprise Management Services (Unlimited Procurement, Network Accessory Support), and built in product-as-service like Virus Protection, Anti-SPAM, and Offsite Backup all sewn up into an easy-to-understand, affordable, predictable monthly bill.
Our Clients
Our clients come from a wide variety of disciplines, but they all have one thing in common: They’re big enough to need a network, but not so big that they need full-time IT Staff.
Envision Consulting is dedicated to the small business market. Envision Managed is set up to provide the consulting, engineering, and product support so that you get the benefit of a multi-person IT staff for a fraction of the cost of a single IT professional.
In fact, if you think of us as an employee—we’re usually the cheapest one you’ve got—and we don’t need dental insurance.
